HERE’S HOW LIBERALS COULD REALLY SAVE THE ECONOMY
Earlier today I was discussing our economy’s troubles with a liberal friend, and he said, “Maybe it’s because this country stole so much land from the indigenous peoples. Maybe bad karma is causing our problems.”
By then the conversation was in the dumps anyway, so I changed the topic to the weather. But, after I hung up, I regretted not saying: “If you really think that we’re guilty of stealing the land from the Indians, why don’t you give yours back? I’m sure you could find someone with Chumash heritage or with links to some other tribe who would be happy to take ownership of a relatively nice house near the beach in Santa Barbara.
This isn’t a new idea. Ed Asner made a movie about this a while back, but I haven’t heard about him giving his property back to the Indians either.
